Activities Near Tims Ford Lake

Tims Ford State Park

Tims Ford State Park offers a variety of beautiful trails, ranging from 0.55 miles to 3.8 miles.  The park has 4 hiking trails, 4 paved multi-use paths and 3 mountain biking trails. Our family has enjoyed the hiking trails with many scenic spots along the way. The suspension bridges are always a highlight. The gift shop that offers mainly camping essentials like firewood and s'mores supplies, but also a surprisingly good selection of souvenir items like t-shirts, mugs, toys/stuffed animals for the children.

Golf at Bear Trace at Tims Ford State Park

The Jack Nicklaus designed course at Tims Ford features Champion Bermuda greens and 419 Bermuda fairways. The opening holes are a blend of links-style creations that gently roll across former pasture land, then gradually transition to wooded sites dominated by giant oak trees. Tims Ford Lake is visible from some holes on the course.

Rutgledge Falls

This picturesque waterfall in Tullahoma is even more beautiful in person. You may even want to stop on the way if you are arriving early before check-in time. Rutledge Falls is great year round. In fall through spring, bring your camera to capture the scenic beauty. It's incredibly instagrammable. In summer, you'll find swimmers and you'll probably want to join in on the fun (icy cold year round). If can't get enough waterfalls, also check out nearby Machine Falls

Tennessee Whiskey Trail

Jack Daniels Distillery and Visitors Center

Only 17 miles away, visit Jack Daniels Distillery, home of the world's best selling whiskey. Jack Daniels offers numerous tours, dining and shopping options.

Cascade Hollow Distilling Co. - Home of George Dickel Tennessee Whisky

You won't find Cascade Hollow on most maps. It is nestled off the beaten path in a beautiful setting among the scenic Tennessee hills, fed by fresh water from nearby Cascade Springs, making it the perfect location for a distillery.  George Dickel declared his whisky as smooth as the finest scotch, so he would always spell the "whiskey" in George Dickel Tennessee Whisky without and "e" in keeping with the Scotch whisky tradition. Cascade Hollow Distillery offers a variety of tastings in a more intimate setting, where you can learn all about their handcrafted whisky and their charcoal mellowing process. You may even meet the distiller!
